Destroyed and re-built several times, this city was mentioned in India’s mythological epic Mahabharata.

The magic sprawls in every corner of the city. Colorful and rich in its character, this city will leave you spellbound. No matter how much it has developed, you will find its ambience to be majestic and medieval, thanks to the many monuments and structures that Delhi has.

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS

This mosque is India’s largest mosque and is located opposite to the Red Fort. Built in 1656, you will feel blessed to have visited the masjid.

Chandni Chowk

This market and old city area used to function as ears and eyes for the Mughals. Built by Shah Jahan’s daughter Jahanara Begum, the entire area was initially known as Shahjahanabad. Experience the magnanimity of the place with an evening stroll or a fun rickshaw ride.

India Gate

This is an architectural heritage landmark designed by Edward Lutyens. The 42 meters high structure is built in memory of Indian soldiers and serves as a patriotic war memorial.

Red Fort

Spread along the banks of river Yamuna, this monument is one of Delhi’s icons. In modern times, it stands as a symbol of freedom. The monument looks especially beautiful in the evening – do not miss the sound and light show if available.

Old Fort (Purana Quila)

This old fort might be in a ruined condition but offers a tremendously intense character to Delhi. Built in the 16th century, one of its towers witnessed the death of Emperor Humayun.

Jantar Mantar

This historic observatory was designed to measure the movements of stars and different planets using architectural instruments.
